Several momentous occasions in my life since my passion took over to raise awareness and funds for this very worthwhile organisation and get the help and support from Admiral Nurses for carers of loved ones diagnosed with dementia.
During 2023, I reached the milestone of raising over £100,000 when I held my 11th Annual Dinner at Brocket Hall Golf Club.
In September 2019, I was proud to have been awarded the Freedom of the City of London, at the Guildhall in London not only for all my work with dementia, but encompassing all of the voluntary work that I do.
I was hugely honoured to have been mentioned in the Queen’s Birthday honours list in June 2018 as the recipient of the British Empire Medal for my work with families facing dementia and the achievement of getting Admiral Nurses into Hertfordshire by the fundraising activities I had organised since 2010 when I commenced my journey with Dementia UK. My award was given to me by the Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire Robert Voss CBE DL in October 2018. This was a very proud moment for me personally and is a legacy to “my boy” Victor.
