My annual Time for a Cuppa took place in a care home this year and raised £350 by the sale of cakes, Dementia UK Christmas cards, tombola, a couple of other stalls run by the staff also donated their proceeds to me so a very successful afternoon and they want to work more closely with me by holding Dementia Cafe’s going into 2024
My usual Christmas Hamper raffle at the North Star was another success and thanks once again go to Tesco for supporting this venture with gifts as well as goodies to go into the hamper so we had a second and third prize this year. This raised £180.

My annual dinner dance is back raising £5758 which I am delighted to inform you that this figure has taken my total fundraising total to over £100,000 – a milestone I never believed I would reach when I first started my campaign . Thanks go to everyone of my supporters in helping me achieve this very personal target but I cannot sit on my laurels, it has made me even more passionate about continuing to fundraise for this very worthwhile cause.

A Christmas Hamper raffle in the North Star PH once again was a success raising £101. Thanks go to the staff and customers of the pub for supporting this.
Mardley Stores also had another successful raising £391.50 with their collection tins in the shop for loose change. My thanks and gratitude go to them for their continued support.

We held a street party and one of my neighbours donated lots of tombola prizes for adults and children to participate . It was a lot of fun, the weather was fantastic, all the neighbours donated food and wine, starting a midday and finishing about 1800hrs. We raised £245.
Another event during the month was a raffle and auction which raised £190.09

We had an afternoon of tea and cakes at the local care home with a sale of home made cakes which raised £90

We held an Easter Raffle in the local PH with contents being donated once again by Tesco and it raised £140.
January 2022
Along with my local Rotary Club we sold Save a Life Capsules at our GP surgery. The amount raised was split between the cost, Rotary and Dementia UK and we received £133.
With my connections to Probus I was asked to give a talk to them at one of their lunches for which they gave me a cheque for £50.

My local PH was holding a Christmas market so I took a stall selling Dementia UK Christmas cards plus held a tombola from prizes donated to me and we raised £535
We also held a raffle in the PH for a Christmas Hamper where most of the contents had been donated by my local Tesco, for whom I offer my thanks as it raised £144
September 2021
My Time for a Cuppa was late this year due to other commitments but it was well attended and raised £335 from a £5 donation for tea, coffee, cake and sandwiches plus a raffle where the prizes had been donated.

Mardley stores continue to support me and raised an amazing £418.90 throughout 2020 through collecting loose change in their collecting boxes.
September 2020
The pandemic has released us to be able to get out and about again so I took part in the 24/7 challenge. I decided that I would visit 7 counties in 24 hours for my challenge which I managed to achieve at 2230hrs when I hit my last county and logged it at Luton airport on my way back to Hertfordshire. Once again I could not have been so successful without your financial support and we raised an amazing £754. Thank you all so much for helping me exceed my target of £500.

We are in lockdown so I decided to do a FB birthday fundraiser and thanks go out to all my supporters as we raised £272 from this event.

My 10th Annual Dinner was held just before the pandemic set in fortunately. It was another great success and thanks goes to all of those who supported it by attending, donating raffle and auction prizes, the band and the venue which due to their generosity meant that more money could be donated. We raised £5912.60.

The local village shop continues to support Admiral Nurses in Hertfordshire by having collection tins for loose change in their shop and raised a total £452 during 2019

I held a dinner at the RAF Club in London one as a thank you for all the people who had supported me and two to increase awareness of this terribly debilitating illness and raise funds of £832.05 for Dementia UK.
I was also given a cheque for £300 which was raised at a friends funeral by the family who know how passionate I care about support for those suffering from dementia.

I was asked to give a talk to the Welwyn Rotary Club which raised a fantastic £250.
I was also included in the participants of a play put on for Charity where they donated a cheque for £50 to my fundraising efforts.

2 successful Time for a Cuppa events one held at home raising £270 and the other was held in a local Care Home raising £60.
I also held my annual black tie dinner at Brocket Hall Golf Club raising £4941.80

Christmas Concert with the Welwyn Harmony Ladies Barbershop singers and the Welwyn Garden City Brass Band. We raised £356 in the raffle where all prizes were so kindly donated. It was a fun and festive evening enjoyed by all who attended.

Charity dinner at the RAF Club with guest speaker Matt Whitfield, who had been a fighter pilot with the Royal Navy entertained us. My thanks go to the RAF Club Conference and Banqueting team, for superb service, Matt for supporting me in a passion very close to my heart, Classic Wings who provided a flight in a Dragon Rapide to auction and everyone who provided raffle prizes. The night was a great success raising £1,307.50 for Dementia and specifically Admiral Nurses and included the sale of the 2018 Ryder Cup Flag which was kindly donated by Sue Poulter. Thanks to everyone who, once again showed their support.

Dinner4Dementia – Charity Dinner Dance & Auction at Needham House Hotel – a great time was had by all and I would like to sincerely thank all those who helped make this dinner a success by attending, donating auction and raffle prizes, the hotel for the venue and Robert Wilson’s band Kicking Back for providing the music. The event raised £5,253 for Dementia UK but more specifically Admiral Nurses in Hertfordshire.

After postponing my dinner dance from November due to lack of numbers, we made up f0r it in February. The auction as always attracted some excellent bids, the couple of table games were fun resulting in profit of £6,421.70 for the whole evening being donated to Dementia UK
2016 – my thanks go to Michael & Sonu Singh at Mardley Stores in Oaklands for continuing to support me through having a donation box. During the year people’s small change has raised £492.99.

My annual fundraising event for Dementia UK is Time for a Cuppa was another great success raising £175.00. Thank you to all those who attended or sent donations as they were not able to attend. It was a great day. Plus the Easter Egg Raffle raised £50 and my thanks go to the staff at the North Star for organising this.

Slowly but surely we continue to raise awareness and funds for a much needed Admiral Nurse to care for the carer who looks after a loved one with Dementia. Another successful dinner, dance and auction was held at Brocket Hall Golf Club which raised £5,860.

After a lot of heartache we held another successful charity dinner, dance and auction at Brocket Hall Golf Club raising £5,800 for Dementia UK. Thanks go to all my donors and supporters for another great night and without whom I could not arrange such a profitable occasion.

Dementia UK’s national fund-raising event “Time for a Cuppa”. The event was held in Whitwell Village Hall and people dropped in for a coffee, a chat and to watch a cookery demonstration by Etta Stobbs Stobart, a Pampered Chef representative and we also had stalls selling jewellery, cards and clothes. A good time was had by all and raised £424.20 for Dementia UK.
